1. Information We Collect & Store

Velia collects information that you choose to input directly into the application, which may include:

• Menstrual & Cycle Logs: Period dates, flow level intensity, and cycle duration.
• Basal Body Temperature (BBT): Daily temperatures, recording timestamps, and disturbances.
• Physical & Emotional Symptoms: Cramps, breast tenderness, headaches, moods, and cervical mucus consistency.
• Intimate Health: Sexual activity records and optional notes.
• Pregnancy Journaling: Estimated due dates, clinical dating methods, gestational progress, and fetal movement (kick) counts.
• Daily Wellness: Water hydration intake, medication reminders, and wellness entries.

Velia does not require user account registration, email addresses, phone numbers, or social logins to use core cycle tracking features.

2. Local-First On-Device Architecture

All reproductive health records, cycle journals, and logs are stored strictly inside your device's isolated application sandbox storage. We do not operate remote databases or cloud servers that receive or store your intimate health logs.

If you enable standard Apple iOS iCloud backups for your device, your local sandbox data is encrypted under your personal Apple ID according to Apple's security protocols.

Website calculations (such as due date estimates, fertile windows, next period dates, and BBT trend curves) execute 100% client-side in your web browser without transmitting intimate entries to remote servers.

3. Apple HealthKit Integration

Velia provides optional integration with Apple Health (HealthKit). If you explicitly grant permission, Velia can read and write:

• Menstrual Flow records
• Basal Body Temperature records

In strict compliance with Apple's Developer Program License Agreement and App Store Review Guidelines:

• Apple HealthKit data is never used for advertising, marketing, analytics, or behavioral profiling.
• HealthKit records are never shared with data brokers or third-party tracking services.
• You can view or revoke Velia's HealthKit permissions anytime in your iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

4. Apple Watch & Widget Synchronization

To display glanceable cycle summaries on your paired Apple Watch and iOS Home/Lock Screen widgets, encrypted snapshot data is transferred locally between your iPhone and paired devices using Apple's native WatchConnectivity and App Group sandbox protocols. This data transfer is peer-to-peer and does not use external cloud servers.

Velia also provides an optional Discreet Mode to obscure period and fertility labels on lock screen widgets and paired watches.

5. Third-Party Services & Technologies

Velia incorporates a minimal set of vetted technologies necessary for app operation:

• RevenueCat (In-App Subscriptions): Validates anonymous App Store transaction receipts to activate Velia Premium. No health entries, symptoms, or cycle dates are transmitted to RevenueCat.
• Google AdMob: Displays banner advertisements for users accessing the free tier. When permitted under Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework, advertising identifiers (IDFA) may be used to deliver ads. Personal health data is strictly isolated and never shared with advertising networks.
• Local Notifications: Reminders for upcoming periods, fertile windows, medications, and hydration are scheduled and fired locally by your iPhone's operating system. No remote push server tracks your cycle timing.

6. Data Portability & Complete Deletion Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Under international privacy regulations (including the EU GDPR and California CCPA), you have full sovereignty over your personal health records:

• Data Portability: You can export your complete history at any time as a formatted Clinical PDF report or plain-text file to share with your healthcare provider.
• Instant Permanent Deletion: You can wipe all local logs, widget snapshots, and paired Apple Watch data permanently by navigating to More → Settings → Delete My Data.

Note: Deleting local app data does not cancel Apple App Store subscriptions, which are managed directly in your Apple ID account settings.

7. Children's Privacy

Velia is not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided health data, please contact us for immediate deletion.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any modifications will be posted on this page and reflected in the app with an updated effective date.
